The Hamptons, in keeping with its reputation as "Hollywood East," was fully represented at this year's Golden Globe awards, which just concluded.
Honored were Alec Baldwin, for his role in NBC's TV series "The Office." And this series won an award itself. Proud pappa there from the East End was Jeff Zucker and, well, a proud momma, Marcie Klein. And, of course, Tina Fey was there.
Others either attending or getting awards were Jennifer Lopez, Renee Zellweger and producers Jamie de Roy, Phil Smith and Jeffrey Richards from Speed the Plow, the new Broadway show starring Jeremy Piven.
And, of course, accepting the annual Cecil B. DeMille Award, the highest honor offered at the Golden Globes, was Steven Spielberg, of East Hampton.
Also attending, arriving hand-in-hand, were Kate Winslett and Drew Barrymore, who were out here much of last summer filming the upcoming film Grey Gardens, the story of the aunt and niece of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, who lived in squalor in a now dilapidated East Hampton mansion for years and years. Jessica Lange plays the aunt, Big Edie Bouvier Beale, and Kate Winslett plays her daughter, Jackie's cousin, Little Edie.
The film will premiere in April.
